Have used it camping for 4 years now. Works great, easy start, very quiet, am told that all the time, by other campers. May buy one more for stock, in case they change the model.

Make sure you follow the recommended oil change intervals located in the owners manual. I let mine sit for about 6 months and it did take a bit to get it to fire probably ten cranks, fires right off every other time- it runs better in Texas in warm air than in Wyoming at elevation in cold air but still it doesn’t let me down. I sleep in my truck when on the road sometimes and use this to power a heater and charge my phone etc, it powers my 24ft camper also and I mean you can run the a/c and fridge and lights and watch tv and it runs a little louder due to the increased load so I put it farther away but no issues. I’ve used the usb, the rv twist lock and the 110v outlets and it all works.
Even has a tool kit built into it for service. Changing the oil sucks but I cut a gallon milk jug in half and set the generator on my tailgate letting it hang over just enough to drain the oil into the jug and the mess is unavoidable it gets all inside the bottom but I use brake clean and get as much as I can cleaned up. Overall I love it, it’s very quiet and portable for one guy to pick up without hurting his self. I would buy another. Keep it covered if storing outside.

Got the thing outta the Box. Gas n Oiled it, Hit the Start button and it cranked for a few turnovers, hit the start button again, and it cranked for a Few and Farted, Cranked it one more time and it Fired up. Tried the USB outlets n they they worked, tried the Duplex outlet n it worked. I haven’t Tried the Twist Lock yet or the 12volt outlets. It is very Quiet and has a bunch of good features but it is a Pain to Start?? It cranks like a Banchy but does not fire off readily. Guess CAT doesn’t use HONDA for there Engines!!

I order the Cat INV4000E generator to power what I needed for a mobile detailing truck. Upon arrival there was a hiccup with the spark plug wire being broken in half. However this was fixed asap with the warranty as it was a manufacturer fault as there was no possible way it could have happened during shipping. Since this, I have been using the generator everyday and not only is it much quieter than other mobile detailing setups I have seen, it powers all my machines including the CAT 1800 electric pressure washer. My favorite features are the electric start and fuel gauge to monitor when it is time to fill up.

We bought this generator for home backup after hurricanes. Just to run essentials. It needed to be quite and compact as we live in a town home. This unit is very quiet, my AC unit is louder when running. We have not used it extensively yet, however first impressions are good. Overall build quality looks to be great. Happy with the purchase, especially at the price point.

Just received the INV4000 E recently. I live in Florida, so I bought this generator for emergencies. I started the generator up yesterday for the first time and it was super quiet. I feel it was a good purchase and glad I have it, although I hope I don’t need to use it. It is compact and looks to be a well-built unit. I am glad I made the decision to buy a INV4000 E generator from Electric Generators Direct, a super US company.

Unit is very quiet, will run for a long time under load. Seems very comparable to the hon*a and yama*a units. Runs my 15k camper a/c with ease, only 70% usage on the power bar. Will update after 6 months of usage.
