    Ice Storm Saver
    By George

My generator is 7-years-old now. Sat several years without use. Fuel on/off valve froze one winter due to lack of use. Used it during the December 2013 ice storm in Toronto. Had to run it 50 hours (less gasoline refill time).

Used it several other times. Example was the July 2013 rainstorm in Toronto. Started with little effort. Wound not start Jan 2015. Carb needed cleaning. Works fine now.

Muffler fell off Feb 2015. $2.85 in parts to put it back on. Just ran it for an hour Feb 28, 2015. Important to run it every month to keep the gasoline fresh and make sure there is no water build up in the tank. Sold by Canadian Tire.

I bought this three yrs. ago for hurricane back up...just in case. well, thank GOD we did not have to use it. but we recently used it to start an out building at our farm. well the first two weekends were fine...then in its 20 to 24 hour life...a piece of aluminum came off of the rotor and smoked the stator...oh yeah, when i called the number on my paperwork they told me coleman/powermate went bankrupt........oh the 13 hp honda that is attatched to the other end is just fine.....$960 at car quest on sale march of 2008.....if i can find parts, wonder what they will cost??

    Powered 2 Homes
    By Joe Blow
    Lost, Maine
    Review Posted 12/25/2009
During a past 3-day power outage, it powered my home, plus my neighbor's home. Can't help it, I'm a nice guy.

In my home it powered 4 lights, refrigerator, oil furnace and blower, and the 42" LCD TV. In my neighbor's home he had a large freezer, hot water, oil furnace, lights, and his TV.

In 3 days of constant running I used 6 gal of gas.

My other neighbors voiced their complaints to me about the noise it made, and one neighbor made an attempt to vandalize it, but they were just mad 'cause I had power and they didn't.

I invited them into my home to keep warm, but they refused, so what do you do?

    Need Coleman parts
    By D Coy

I have only about 25 hours on this Coleman Powermate and it no longer produces power.

The Honda engine is wonderful but there is no voltage being generated at all. So basically, I have a great engine but no generator. It will cost me out of pocket to have it fixed if the service center can get parts. The service manager said parts are a problem.

As we post on our web site, no one has yet bought Coleman Powermate's assets. However, the old service center site is still active at http://www.powermate.com/servicecenters.php, which may help you locate parts in your area.
