I had mine installed in 2017. About a year later and since it fails to start automatically with the supplied transfer panel. The generator fault shows a VCS COMM LOSS when a outage occurs. I disconnect the battery and unplug the power cable to the motherboard on the genset wait a few moments reconnect everything and it will start manually. It will also run weekly in exercise mode no problem. Only when there is a power outage it will start and shut down with the fault I mentioned. Unfortunately I think by now it would be cheaper to replace the generator than repair. This has nothing to do with the seller who I give high marks, it’s just the equipment.

Though the unit was installed in April of this year, it has only been functional less then three weeks. Essentially, the 12v battery within the unit would not stay charged. Intervention by my private electrician and then a Generac service provider, and the unit is finally operational. It appears there was a defect with one of the grounding wires (in that it was missing). It has now gone through two weeks of automated test runs, and appears to be working quite well. The actual test will be when we next lose electricity. Fingers crossed.
