Haven't put it to the test yet. This is a real improvement to my 15 year old gen that gave up the ghost. I like the ability to monitor it on my phone when away. I had to cover up the 4 holes on the bottom with duck tape to keep the mice and other critters from crawling in and chewing on the wires. You need to give us plastic caps to cover them.

I bought a new Generac 18 KW to replace my eight year-old 20 KW Generator that burned out a voltage regulator that is now obsolete. I had the New 18 KW Generator installed. And the control board was froze up. I had to wait a week to get a Generac technician in and replace the control board. Now I have a 20 KW generator sitting here that is worthless. I’m not very happy with Generac right now.

Delivery was quick and unloaded with care. Changes made to the generator are great. End panel comes off giving access to battery and control and power wires. After connecting gas and electric it fired up and was easy to setup. Does by-weekly exercise as to weekly.

This is a replacement for my previous Generac Guardian 17KW. I'm a little wary because my previous on blew out the windings after only 14 years. I trust that this new unit has better quality control. I like the WiFi status reporting, and await the next power outage to assess its performance.

I have not experienced any power outages yet in August, usually in winter time. My old generator was very efficient. I got this larger one for my electric car. I have no doubt that it will be very efficient as well.
