The generator was installed 4/23. The only use for the first 6 or 7 months was the weekly self test. There was a problem with the unit not starting for the self test. The technician came out for three weeks in a row and got it going again. It performed flawlessly during a 46 hour power outage. During hurricane Beryl, it was running rough but making suitable power for the the first four days but began to cough/backfire through the intake system so I shut it off. Waiting for a tech to diagnose and fix the problem. Overall, I think it is a solid unit but I would recommend having oil changing supplies and spare parts for extended outages. Whatever the current issue is, I will order the same parts used to repair it just in case.

I was fortunate to have one of the last production runs of this unit. I did have an issue when completing the initial run checklists. When i went to run unit for the last test it wouldn’t start. I had a red flashing light with a “missing cam pulse” error code. My local IASD came out and tested all the wiring and cam position sensor, all tested normal. He reset the sensor gap and it started with no issue. The Mitsubishi engine folks are not generally known for careless assembly so I’m not 100% certain there are no other issues. It’s a shame Generac decided to discontinue this model, but happy to have it.

This is my first whole house standby generator. I have had it 2 years. It has been very dependable. The power fails quite often where I live, sometimes for days at a time. When the power fails it comes on automatically within seconds and I don’t even realize the power is off. I perform my own routine maintenance which is simple on the 4 cylinder liquid cooled Mitsubishi engine. I am also a survivor of hurricane Katrina and know very well the importance of a standby generator. I would recommend this generator to any homeowner. I also have it running on LPG which is delivered to my home.

My wife and I decided that we needed to upgrade to a whole house unit to replace our 12 KW gasoline unit. The quality is obvious and the dealer was excellent. Once the unit arrived it was installed neatly and precisely. We ran several tests during acceptance and the results were exactly as stated in the manual.
This is a quality product and provides a lot of peace of mind to those of us in hurricane prone areas.
