The picture on the website is the smaller one, the 400 amp panel is what you would expect this to be. Its well built but simple.
In the Generac system most of the smarts is in the controller and not in the transfer switch, so it would be a challenge to use this for other products. That being said when used with a generac genset it performs well. It should also be noted that you do not have the option to transfer the load when doing the normal scheduled exercise. There is also no way to see the current load, voltage or frequency so if thats important you will have to do this externally.

The 400 amp transfer switch was shipped to us in a timely manner and in good condition. However, the 5/16 nuts were missing from the internal mounting plate studs They hold in place the whole base when the nuts are torqued down on the studs. That is the reason for the poor quality rating. This was very odd and not normal for any Generac product. It is not a reflection on Electric Generators Direct as they would have never seen inside this transfer switch. It is a good thing there was a hardware within a few miles.
