The Generac RXSW100A3 is the same automatic transfer switch that comes standard with the best-selling Generac 7043 smart circuit standby generator system, except smaller. This "Smart Switch" is unique because it comes equipped with A/C Shedding already built-in to control four standard AC units. Best of all, if you have multiple high-voltage appliances, your electrician can install up to 8 more separate Smart Management Modules (SMM) to protect your generator system from overloading. These come separately. The separate SMM modules are used to alternate up to 8 high-voltage appliances - like electric water heaters or well pumps. It basically allows you to energize your entire electrical panel - not just essential circuits. This 100-amp automatic transfer switch is service-entrance-rated. In simple terms, your electrician installs it between the meter and main electrical panel, which is a much easier and usually cheaper installation.

This was installed quickly and easily by my electrician. It worked as designed when we disconnected the unit manually. Just one flaw with quality, the cover was bent however worked.

This transfer switch is a 100 amp, 120/240 volt automatic transfer switch. It is ideal for adding whole house generator back up power to houses that only have 100 amp (or less) services. Many houses in my area are only 100 amp.
Best case scenario is Electric Generators Direct and/or Generac give an option on the smaller generators for this transfer switch instead of the 200 amp ATS being the only option. Installation went well as we were able to locate the ATS next to the service panel.

This transfer switch does what I need it to. I liked the enclosure has no pre-stamped knock outs allowing me to punch KOs exactly where necessary. EGD was more than fair allowing me to exchange a product I ordered by mistake for this one. Couldn't ask for better service.
