Crap! Don't Buy This Generator.

This is my 5th Honda generator (2000i/300i's) and I've purchased 3 heavy duty Honda water pumps. Honda is the best small engine performer, hands down. But this 2500 is crap. CO monitor goes unless it's completely outside and the pull cord broke after the 20th pull. You can just see it's not up to Honda's previous high standard.

Seems to be a great generator. Fired up with the first pull out of the box. I ran it for 5 hours to break it in with two ac window units running off of it and a fridge. Never increased from idle until I added the microwave. No doubt this will run my essentials in a power outage. Saw some reviews about the oil drain being in a bad spot. Hey it is but just drain it without a container. Also it’s not loud. I’ve had loud generators. I added an hour meter, super easy to install.

2 yrs. old. Always used fuel stabilizer. Less than 7 hours of use. Bought new from Honda dealer. Developed missing and surging. Dealer claimed "stale fuel", when that was not the case. Always in my control. I know exactly when and what went into the fuel tank. Both Dealer and Honda claim fuel system abuse - a convenient excuse to avoid warranty repairs. Additionally, recoil starter is a flimsy plastic mess. If it's this tender and expensive, I have no use for any more Honda products.

The first generator arrived with the spark plug wire broke ,took a few days to get the return authorization but it was eventually replaced. THE GENERATOR it self works well although it does not power a small air compressor. Over all the capacity of the GENERATOR is not quite accurate so if possible try the possible loads on the GENERATOR before you make the decision. Also I am not a fan of the co minder I did not read the entire description that was my fault.

Delivery guy bounced it off the truck to the ground. Seemed no point in complaining or troublesome delay. I am sure the stout frame provided plenty protection. He was only jealous, probably not paid very well, eh?. Aside from that, I am glad to have this generator.

This was to replace and EU2000 that was stolen a few months ago. I happy with the higher output, but disappointed they don't make a parallel kit to use these in tandem like the EU series. Started on the first pull. Overall, quite impressed … it's a Honda, best in the business.
