I bought this for home backup power. I can power two small window units(Inverter type), a refrigerator, my T.V, and lights. It's a little too heavy to lift into the bed of a truck by myself, but not too heavy for one man to unload out the back of a pickup truck and place on the ground. I think being heavy means it's well made. It's very quiet and runs like a sewing machine. I've always wanted this generator and finally purchased it. I'm glad I did. I love it!

Owned the EU 3000 and purchased in 2002 and lasted thru 2024. Changed the oil every 2 weeks and filter every 4 months. Use was 3 hours morning and 5 hours evening with small variation over 22 years. Generator was serviced with 5-30 synthetic oil religious every 12-14 days. Occassionally up to 15 days. Used standard regular gasoline and was kept religiously serviced and clean under a semi walled porch on 2 sides, full single wall and open in front to access and service. Valves and lifters were adjusted once at 10 years.
Its unfortunate Honda doesn't make a 7500 watt that would adequately service the average house 100% with inverter regulated power. ANY generator WITHOUT an INVERTER must run a full RPM to keep 60 hertz power. Its like running your car @ 80 as soon as you start and everywhere you went. Wouldn't last very long would it. Well, its why ANY generator without an inverter doesn't last long because if you 1 bulb or a full load, they run at the same speed. Stupid as far as I'm concerned and damn expensive besides very noisy. With all the bullshit over saving the environment this is one feature I would require of ANY generator manufacture. Would save a lot of fuel and wear and tear.

Very quiet. Started first crank. Runs my RV great. Saved $400 buying it from Generators Direct as opposed to buying from my local store. The optional wheel kit is a must.

I like how it runs. I would love it even more if it was efi. I have a 7000 efi, an iu 2000, and now this one. I am a true Honda generator fan. Compliments to the shipping company based out of Las Vegas. The driver went out of his way to deliver my generator. And I love the fact the little Honda came with no visual damage. a true cream puff. It will look at my campsite at the dunes.

Not only is this generator 110% satisfactory, the folks at Electric Generators Direct provided SUPERIOR advice and service! I put it on a little garden cart, which made it easier to move around. The is the second of this model I have acquired. The first one was second-hand, and its still running perfectly for me after 10+ years. I use it for camping where being real quiet is necessary.

I like genset a lot. There is no mention in the book or tag on the unit that tells me the battery is not connected.

Very sorry there was no tag on the generator about the battery. On page 16 of the owner's manual, under the Initial Use Instructions, it states the battery is disconnected for shipment.

I took this gennie to Burning Man and it operated flawlessly. Our primary source was a community generator that was too small, overutilized, and conked out every day. This 3000 saved our bacon time and again. It was the least of many worries I had in such tough conditions and an unreliable main source of power.
It was also more than I wanted to pay for a 3000w unit but also it demonstrated its quality, value, and ease of use every day.
