This 12,500 watt generator is powered by a Subaru EH65 engine with auto engine shut off for low oil. This model has an 8 gallon fuel tank with an easy to read fuel gauge. The generator gets 6 hours of run time at 50% load.
The AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) keeps equipment protected from voltage surges. There are two 5-20R 20 Amp Duplexes, one L14-30R 30 Amp Twistlock & a 14-50R 50 Amp Plug.
The 13 inch pneumatic wheels make it easy to transport. There is a 3 year warranty on both the engine and the generator. Oil is included.

Bought this to replace a 2000 watt 38-year-old generator that I used in a three-day outage from last winter's ice storm. As a electrical maintenance person by trade I added my transfer panel wiring and outside receptacle myself. The main reason I chosen this generator, because of the 12,500 running watts and 50 amp 120-240 volt outlet which is maximum wattage for a 50 amp circuit. It's enough to run the water heater, or a 2 ton central air conditioning unit and other necessities in my house.
Next time I'll be ready for what mother nature has in store. I am also very mechanical incline and knowledge about engines and generator operations, so it's easy to do my own repairs and testing.I must of bought one of the last ones, because this unit is now discontinued by Electric generators direct.

After researching upgrades from my previous Generac GP8000 (a fine machine) I finally settled on the Powermate 12,500 kW unit.
Assembly of wheel set, front supports and battery lock down was easy. Battery was charged. Added supplied oil and started immediately.
Tested it on the dedicated 50 amp circuit/panel that I up sized from the previous and it powered up all my circuits flawlessly. I bought it due to the size (it is supplying the max wattage a 50 amp circuit can handle ), the fact that it is assembled in the US and that it has a very high quality Robin/Subaru 22hp v-twin with idle control. All in all, the proof will be in its longevity but the machine is very nicely designed and laid out in terms of operating and service access and seems very stoutly built as usual.
EGD was terrific to deal with and stepped in to help with a shipping solution when the shipper could not access my road with a semi. Great people, great service - EGD is how a business should be run. Thank you for a very good experience.

This ran flawlessly during Sandy. 12 days without power and my whole house is electric (well pump, electric hot water heater, etc.)
I wired it directly into my panel and just managed the breakers. This machine is top quality- the Robin Subaru engine is built to last and with regular maintenance will still be running long after others have crapped out.
Money well spent!!

IT IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A "WORKHORSE" THAT RAN FOR 132 HOURS DURING THE SEVEN DAY STRETCH WITHOUT A HITCH.

This generator is definitely one of the best out on the market for it's type. Living in Houston, TX requires a generator if you plan on making it through what Mother Nature throws at us now and then.
I did a lot of research and there are many generators out that claim power capacities but the ads are misleading. You have to know what you need and find out the facts about the generator ratings before you buy.
This 12kW generator from Powermate is simple yet built to last. The Subaru/Robin engine has the features that you need to ensure reliability and long life.
Like anytging else proper maintenance is the key. The generator itself is a quality unit that uses quality materials and a simple design. A lot of time was spent looking for the right generator head and this is one of the best ones. When buying a generator, look for features that will last rather than fancy electronics that will fail over time due to long term storage.
The power output is what is truly going to make or break a generator. This unit puts the full power rating, 50A, to the main plug outlet rather than splitting the power across the multiple outlets typically provided. Some units claim to be rated the same but will not allow the full power to one outlet.
Overall the folks at EGD are great to deal with, followed through with the order, and the shipping company, R&L Shipping, delivered the heavy unit on time, with no issues at all.
The driver even pulled the unit down a very long driveway and placed it exactly where my shipping instruction were to drop it. Very satisfied with the delivery service provided.
You won't be disappointed with this Powermate generator and thanks to EGD for great customer service and a great deal.

This is a great generator and a workhorse at that!
But, if you buy one of these be prepared to have a jump start battery on hand. These things have been in storage long enough that their storage batteries are basically dead. Mine had a reading of 4.2 volts, definitely not enough to turn over the starter, let alone the 22 HP Subaru engine.
Imagine my disappointment when I uncrated the generator, put on the wheel kit, put the oil in, mixed up some sta-bil fuel, hooked up the battery, and when I turned the key.....Nothing!!! I jumped the battery with battery cables and it came right to life. You would think they would send out another battery but noooo! I was directed to 3 service sites in my area. And this thing hadn't even been out of the box an hour yet.
