Good Inlet
By David H

Purchased 07/23/2024 |
Review Posted 08/15/2024
Room to work and I like the fact the cable plugs in the bottem to keep the water out. It being made of plastic it seems like it could be a problem with such a heavy cable being plugged into it, however it's working fine and holding up. Not stressing the cabinet too much and proper installation on a solid surface goes a long way with the pbn50.

Perfect Inlet Box for generator requiring 6 gauge wires. Solid, well made product that provides plenty of room for working with large gauge electrical wires. I did extensive research before purchasing this inlet box and now highly recommend it. I would buy it again without hesitation. Worth the price!

Reliance 50 Amp Inlet

Plug in prior to mounting. Plug is extremely difficult to plug into the outlet especially the first time. Once plugged I would leave it for a few weeks if you plan to unplug to loosen the female connections.

I have installed several of these units. Very solid and better quality than most with metal housing, so don’t let the fact that it is plastic turn you away from it. Also, I have always been able to purchase them locally, but due to “covid” I had to look elsewhere. Hats off to ElectricGeneratorsDirect.com...I’d def do business with them again

It was Ok once I got it installed. I found it to be a challenge to install a bit tricky got annoyed with it. The next time I will buy the metal outlet instead for a few more dollars.

Well Spent Money For Peace Of Mind
By Rich S.
Elmont, New York
Purchased 04/23/2013 |
Review Posted 02/05/2014
I purchased this to connect a 10kw generator I bought after hurricane Sandy. I wanted a set up that would allow me to run most of the important circuits during a power failure. Installation was easy. I noticed some deflection of the back of the unit during installation on to a brick surface. A little reinforcement in back and things were fine. I tried to plug the generator power cord in at that time and found it to be very difficult.
A year later I finally had an opportunity to use it for real. During a recent snow/ice/rain event we lost power due to a downed tree. I got out the generator, plugged it in in cold freezing rain weather. It plugged in easily and we had heat and basic power in no time. This seems to have been definitely well worth the money. I will approach the next outage with much greater confidence. Glad I bought the top recommendation.

Very Hard To Install
By Dennis M.

Review Posted 11/29/2013
Very hard to install the wire due to poor design.. Don't even try to install this box in extreme cold temperatures as the wires have to make such a hard bend and they enter into the box right behind the connection which mean that it needs to come into the box and do a very tight loop up down into the connection.
