I looked at quite a few generators on here. I was sold on the Westinghouse, till I started looking at reviews on YouTube. It came down to Honda & Yamaha, and spending more than I wanted to, but I needed this product to last for a long time. In the end, I chose this unit, because of all aluminum frame,and a lot of the motor technology, came from Yamahas motorcycle engineering!

I reviewed this about 7 years ago right after I bought it. I still use it and could not be happier. I ended up buying a small camper trailer with an 8,000 btu AC. Have been using it for that. Generator runs the entire trailer. I dont know what the "high capacity" actually means, but when the AC cycles on, it does not lose rpm's, it just makes a small sputter and keeps going. Barely changes speed. I have ran it in 95+ degree weather and got 6 hours out of the tank. Yes, it is heavy, but I would not go with anything else. I have always used non-ethanol fuel with stabilizer and ran it empty when I was done. I use only 10w-40 Mobil1 motorcycle racing oil. Clean everytime I change it. I actually let a neighbor at a campsite test it on his 13,500 btu AC, it ran it just fine (new camper trailer). I would not recommend for an older model AC though. So happy with my purchase.

I have owned this generator for 5 1/2 years Electric Generators Direct for dry camping. I have aprox 80 hrs on this unit and the only thing I have done is to change the oil and add fuel stabilizer when in storage. This generator is very reliable and usually starts on the second pull even after storing it for 7 months! I highly recommend this unit and forget the extended warranty you're just blowing your cash out the door.

I am writing this review about 6 months after purchasing and using the EF2400ish Yamaha generator with a total of 40 hrs on it now. I would recommend this generator and would buy one again.
Honestly this has been a great little machine that uses very little fuel. It runs my 13.5k Coleman mach 3 ac in 90+ outside temp's with no issues at all, for hours at a time. As a precaution I did install a hard start kit as a precaution and use a 20amp to 30 amp plug. I am using the recommended Yamalube in the crankcase and have had no oil consumption problems, it starts first pull every time. I do wish it had an option to turn the eco throttle off, but it runs fine without this option.

I bought the EF2400ISHC in hopes that it could power our 25' Airstream's 13,500 BTU air conditioner. It works! I needed a gen that was small, but I didn't want to have to go with 2 generators running in parallel (seemed like 2x the opportunity for problems). I know it can't run everything simultaneously, but that's not what I was going for. The EF2400ISHC started right out of the box on the 2nd pull. It's light enough for me to be able to pull out of the bed of the pickup, and easily fits under the tonneau cover too. Still a little early for a complete review, but so far so good.
