Great Generator

I was amazed at how easily the generator started. It has always started on the first pull. Even the first time I put gas in it. The power output for my needs was perfect. Although a little louder than some other generators - I definitely would recommend this generator to anyone needing one.

Yamaha Generator For a Good Price

My Yamaha generator was delivered on Saturday and I just spent the past few days testing it.
Out of the box it's about 100 lbs. The perimeter frame is solid and it is quite pretty. Nominal dimensions are 20 wide x 16 high x 16 deep. It's made in China but the quality, both fabrication and the elemental parts, look pretty good
Added 600 ml of good quality oil and gas, pulled the handle once and it starts right up.
Engine noise is reasonable, and your neighbors probably won't be complaining. You can carry on a pretty normal conversation around it.
Voltage is 120V single phase and you are probably good for 20A or so. I ran my refrigerator with out any issues. However, when I ran my 12 inch / 15A miter saw
the blade took about 1 second to "spool up" but otherwise worked fine.
I bought this unit as an emergency generator to run a refridgerator, septic pump, and the electric power for my gas heater and water heater (plus a few LED lights). It looks like I should be OK for this load.
It's a Yamaha, it's priced well, and I am pretty sure that I can depend on it when the lights go out. Not sure I can say that about some of the box store units.

I used this generator on a 15,000 mile trip. It powered my 34 foot 5th wheel camper with a few adjustments, such as turning off the 15,500BTU air conditioner while using the microwave.
The GFI receptical broke while I was in Alaska and I had a hard time finding another. The generator ran all night on 2.5 gallons of fuel. I used to have a unit with a smaller fuel tank, and it had to be refilled in the middle of the night. So, I think this unit is a good value.
