i purchased the rp3600 1yr ago. the generator is well put together an does it job. Unfortunately, get warranty work/service is quiet a problem in itself. The generator developed gas starvation about 1 month ago, reving up an down..I had plenty of treated gas, filter was clean an had the problem with load or without. Contacted cat on their website, couldn't find a service location, a box popped up in center of screen, texted back an forth with their rep, who couldn't tell me where to get service or a service number but assured me someone would cal me from cat.. They DID NOT (a great help she was),called a cat dealer, who replied "oh yea, those little lawnmower motored generators" we don't service them here but gave me another number, no luck there so they gave me another number which i called an left a message, they have yet to call me.. CUSTOMER SERVICE/repair ON THESE GENERATORS SEEMS TO BE DISMAL AT BEST.. GOOD LUCK IF YOU BUY A CAT .. i cant seem to get mine serviced under warranty. It almost seems cat to think of these as toys..

Package delivered, a bit damage cardboard. Open, nice package inside, no damage. Easy to assemble to parts. Put a bit gas, started easy. I'm ready to power is off.

I ordered this generator at the last minute to prepare for a storm that was to make landfall in just 4 days. The generator arrived in just over two days (free shipping!). The CAT RP3600 went together easy (wheels and handle), and came with everything required except for gas. In about 15 minutes, it was assembled and it started on the first pull. I tested everything and it worked flawlessly. I have only used it one time, so far, but, I have started it to make sure that it is ready for the next big storm. Great product and extremely fast free shipping. A+++

We ordered this product on line with the impression we would have it the day before Hurricane Florence was to hit our area of North Carolina. It was suppose to be delivered by Fedex and received notification it would be delivered. However it was not delivered according to Fedex because of inclement weather. It was beautiful weather that Wednesday and yet it was not delivered. It was no fault of Electric Generators Direct. They did their part. A week and a half later we finally received the generator. It was kind of like shutting the gate after the cows are gone.
We assembled the product, cranked the engine which was very easy, and it seems to perform admirably. I guess we will be ready for the next storm.

I expected this to be more noisy than I could tolerate, but it’s really not that bad. I suspect that the larger muffler used on this is why. At 25 feet away it’s fine, but at 50 feet it’s good. It started on the first pull out of the box after oil and fuel were added. Bolt the wheels on and rubber feet and that’s it. I waxed it up, fired it up, and I am happy with this purchase. Although I use a Honda 3000is , this is my second choice. Not for the campground, but for around the house or out boondocking in an RV, it’s great. Time will tell for issues because I don’t have hardly any time on it yet but I can tell it’s reliable and smooth.
