This home standby maintenance kit is for Generac 20kW standby generators but our recommends applies to similar maintenance kits in other sizes as well.
This kit has everything you need to do the annual maintenance required for your home standby generator except the oil. You will need to buy that locally.

Good Purchase For The Price!

I purchased this turnup kit for my 2008 generac. That was an odd year for the 20k watt, 100amp generator. It seems to be in between production changeover model, and is a little harder to find parts for. This kit fits that as well as other models. The air filter is an exact fit, the oil filter is the factory replacement and doesnt seep like an aftermarket model does. (Fram, stp and napa are listed as direct replacements, but do not work correctly!) The spark plugs are upper middle quality wise. Dont purchase this kit with the oil. Save the money and buy your own. It ranges from sae30 to 5w-30 based on your environment! I will buy this again for the next tuneup

I typically change the oil in my generator once a year, and change the oil filter, air filter and spark plugs every 2 years if the unit has not had excessive use. These are the parts my generator calls for in doing a tune up.

Perfect DYI maintenance kit for your (2008 to 2012) 20kW Generac Standby generator. Replace the oil and air filer, oil, and spark plugs at least one a year, or more often if the generator has several hours of run time between maintenance. Be sure to check the wet cell battery to make sure it has water and is fully charged. If you think there is a problem with the battery, pull it and have it checked. If there are any problems, or even a hint of a problem, replace the battery as the last thing you want is to need the generator and it will not start because of a bad battery.

This maintenance kit is for 2008-2012 Generac Guardian 20kw generators. If the air filter is not compatible, you may have a 20kW that is newer (2013+). Here's the newer version Generac Guardian Maintenance Kit for 20kW & 22kW Standby Generators (2013+ w/ Evolution Controller)
