Worked Flawlessly For 4 Years, So Far!

I installed this Generac 11kw unit myself when I lived in Topeka KS. I ordered it with the 200 amp ATS (auto transfer switch) and a starting battery. I programmed the controller to self test for 15 mins every 2 weeks, at a time I thought I’d be home. By golly, it’s been like an alarm clock for the past 4 years. It’s been 100% reliable. When the power fails, the Gen starts and restores all of my home power requirements in less than a minute. Then when the utility power is restored, the Gen turns off without any interruptions. My power loads: air cond is 3.5 ton rated, 2 large refrigerators, sub-zero freezer, electric dryer, 3000 sq.ft. living space, lots of lights. I just moved and I will be installing another Generac with the 200 amp ATS. I should have brought this unit with me to my new home, as the new replacement cost is 60% more….ouch!

This generator was very easy to install. Our power has not gone out but it does kick in every week and a half. Glad we have it because we don't have to do anything if the power goes out, it starts itself.

Nothing but trouble with this generator. I had it installed and serviced by a licensed electrician, and so far it has killed one battery (during warm weather months), nearly killed a second battery (during cold weather months), and after having an oil and battery heater installed (with an oil and filter change) and a relay replaced, it now says "RPM Sense Loss, Error Code 1505. I am VERY frustrated with this generator and it's constant problems. This generator is about as unreliable as it can get.

I am really going to take a second look a supplying my customers with Generac moving forward. Customer service was horrible for a unit we purchased and installed that never had a crank seal installed from the factory. Pissed oil everywhere. Of course the customer is not happy with us but I’m hopeful in the end they will understand where the fault lies. Maybe sales has exceeded their ability to manufacture? This is not the first Generac unit we have had problem with.

This is the right size generator for a medium size home: reasonable fuel consumption and noise level. Yet, enough power for essential equipment during an emergency. Easy maintenance guidelines. The evolution control is very easy to use. Very good flexibility for power management. Nice looking unit!

My Generac 11kw generator was installed Oct 23. Lost power Oct 30 330 for 5 days. We were absolutely delighted with the Generac. Runs great! Like the feature that you can manually shut it off at times to conserve propane. Would gladly recommend it!!
