This is a high quality generator, but that's no surprise with it being a Honda. IMO, if you're a fairly capable person, then there is no need to buy the elec. start model as this pull start is easy to get started and you can save yourself $100 over the e-start model. I installed meters on the in-feed to the panel/generator-lockout and this thing was spot on 120V +/- 0.1V on both legs of the 240V output. I'm almost looking forward to the first power outage of the winter season so I can put this thing to work. You will pay more for a Honda generator, but like they say... you generally get what you pay for. And EG Direct was first class with how they processed my order as it was timely and they contracted a reliable shipping company that delivered the product with not so much as a dent in the box. I will be changing the oil per Honda's suggestion along with the other minor maintenance tasks and I'm expecting this generator to last for years and years. So far, I am very pleased with the money I invested in this generator.

This Honda generator is rock solid. Heavy, durable construction. Excellent quality throughout. Quick and easy to assemble the handles and wheels. Added oil and fuel and it started on the first pull. Our family has several other Honda generators of this ilk and they are reliable, quality products. During past power outages, they have run continuously for days. We have never had a problem with them. You can find cheaper manufacturers out there, but I doubt if you would find better quality.

The generator is very quiet compared to other generators in this size. The Honda engine is why I purchased. Reliable Honda quality. This model is manual start but one pull is all you need to get it running. I installed mine with a 10 circuit 30 amp transfer switch and it powers my pool,lights,fridge, ceiling fans TV, internet MW and washer at less than half load. One caveat with this model, it was primarily designed for work site usage and is neutral bonded to the frame which means it will not work with a four wire transfer switch without breaking the circuit. There are two ways to get around this.You can either install a three wire transfer switch or remove the white "neutral" jumper on the alternator. I removed the jumper. it took less than 5 minutes. Honda has a service bulletin on how to do this. Removing the jumper will make it grounded at the transfer switch. Removing the jumper will make it Non-OSHA qualifying meaning you can not use it while working at an OSHA regulated work site. Not a big deal for me. It may be if you are a contractor but you can always pop the jumper back on when need be. Great generator

We had problems with the delivery. The driver refused to come up our driveway in his truck. He said it would cost $375 for a smaller truck to deliver it some other time.
We had to drive our Subaru and have it placed in the hatchback area at the end of the driveway. There was only just one driver for the delivery who said the machine was too heavy.

Curb-side delivery is the norm with large items like generators. Unfortunately most residential locations don't offer optimal space for maneuvering a semi-truck up the driveway.

This is just one of many things I have ordered from this company. I had looked into being a Generac distributor and found it to be alot less expensive to buy from Electric Generators Direct than from Generac directly. As a contractor I have had only good luck with this company.
