I had the 2 cycle 1000 watt unit, it was a piece of junk. I took a chance on this 4 cycle unit. I love it, starts easy, runs great, good buy.

Just for power tools so far

Fortunately, we have not had a power outage. But after getting my Powermate generator and reading the owner's manual, I started it and gave it a test run. The generator started easily and ran quietly. After allowing it to run awhile, I connected a couple of loads. Each worked as it was supposed to and the generator operated properly.
I am well pleased, but hope that I do not have to use the generator for emergency power anytime soon. I hope it will just be used as a portable power source for power tools!

Buy it

I could not find replacement parts for my 37 year old Honda generator. So I started looking around and found this one.
This is for a cabin in the woods, it runs lights and T.V. and the best part- it starts on the 2nd pull. The only setback it is a a bit noisy, so I would not take it to a pubic camp ground. I put this in my shed about 40 feet away and it works perfect.
It was a good buy.

Have been looking for one this size for some time that was priced right and I finally found it. I have a bigger one by pro force (think it was made by Powermate). It was getting a little heavy for my age and I have had perfect service from it. Haven't used the new one much but it starts good, runs good and powers all that I use it for. If it gives me the service of my old one I will be very pleased. I think I got a great deal on this and liked the service and speed of shipping of this from electric generators direct and Powermate.

Bought this as a back up to my big generator, so I could run small things when I did not want to run the big one which uses more gas if for some reason long term power is out. This is for emergencies only so when I got it I tested it, ran it. Had it run a microwave that takes 950w to power (it is a 600 w cooking microwave but if you look at the back of any microwave it tells you how much power it needs coming in). So when I turned on the microwave the generator slowed for a second or two and then ran the microwave fine. I did not hook anthing else up to it while the micrwave was on but this was my test for what I need it for. I then stored it via the instructions for long term storage. Pretty easy to more around, found it to be well built. It will work fine for my intended use.
