Good Product As Advertised

I have use reliance controls many times, usually from a different vendor. This particular unit was either bought, messed with and returned or had issues from the factory. A couple of the factory connections were loose and not correct. I would lean towards bought, returned and then shipped back out.

Flex Conduit

Review Posted 12/29/2022
Overall it’s a good product, however the wire were too short. The worst part is the supply 3/4 conduit is way too small to fit all those wire through, even if I try hard it is really tight and you’re not supposed to fill up the conduit more than 75% of it diameter I end up have to upside it to a 1.5 inch conduit. Seem like manufacturers know it but ignore it

Reliance R306a Manual Transfer Switch

Well built, we checked with the local power company for approval and was okay for install pending inspection.
No problem with installation. Had to increase the length of some of the black and red wire. Test run was good.

Reliance Controls Pro/Tran2 Manual Transfer Switch

Review Posted 07/12/2022
Excellent outdoor manual transfer switch. Enables complete safe control of 6 circuits. The only problem I had was routing the 14 wires through the 3/4 inch conduit. I would Highly recommend using metal conduit vise the plastic.

This unit is well made. I bought this outdoor style and used it inside because it already had the plug incorporated into it. I've reconfigured the circuit breakers that came with the unit but I was really impressed with the overall build quality.

Great Product

Great product, installed it in a jiffy. Had to punch another entry in the bottom of the box on the left hand as that is where I needed it. Would suggest the supplier to add this feature, and not just the punch-out on the right. Other than that, nice and sturdy, well build and exactly what I needed. Read the other reviews regarding the wiring though the flex conduit. Easy if you don't cross the wires when pulling them through.

Reliance Provided Excellent Customer Service For My R306A.

I highly recommend this model for anyone needing to run the basic electrical necessities from a portable generator. Heavy, high quality, well marked true 10 gauge wire, good switches and breakers, a sturdy outdoor rated housing, and extremely good customer service from Reliance. Can you imagine how many times they get asked how to wire one of these? Well I had some questions and Reliance was easy to contact, patient, and they know how to install these even in unique scenarios. Thanks Reliance.
Electric generators direct is also an excellent company. I am surprised these don’t cost twice what they do. But I appreciate the great quality at a price I gladly paid. That statement may sound like I have extra money to spend. I assure you, I do not. That is why I’m very pleased with this level of quality for the amount spent.
Thank you.

So Far So Good

Seems well made with sturdy construction. Manual is well laid out with reference to YOUTUBE videos to help the untrained. My only complaint was the 3/4" liquid tite hose and fittings being really snug for the 14 #12AWG wires going through it. A 1" fittings and conduit would have been easier to feed...especially trying to make a right hand turn into the main. I ended up using more 3'4" and making a soft curve to get the line from the switch into the bottom of my main panel. According to the conduit wire fill chart I was okay with that amount of wire/gauge within the 3/4 conduit. But then again I'm not a qualified electrician. I got everything put together and have called an electrician buddy to do the final hook up...even though the instructions are so well written that I was attempted to do it myself 220-240 V electricity scares me! Haven't turned it on yet, but so far I'm glad I went with this set up.
